Meet the Pastor

Pastor Gordon Allan has been serving in the role of Senior Leader at Edinburgh Elim since 2013, and has been leading churches since 1999.

Gordon loves communicating God’s word and connecting people to it, helping to train and raise people up into their passion and calling. He leads the team at Edinburgh Elim and oversees all our campuses. He is also the regional coordinator for Elim in Scotland and co-leads the Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife prayer network.

Gordon is married to Heather, and together they have three grown-up children. He enjoys swimming, rugby, NFL and playing bagpipes in his pipe band.

our story

Elim’s founder, George Jeffreys (arguably the United Kingdom’s greatest evangelist during the 1920-30’s) spent a large portion of his time in Scotland during 1932. He came to Edinburgh to share “The Foursquare Gospel;” that Jesus Christ was the Saviour, Healer, Baptiser with the Holy Spirit and Coming King. 800 conversions were recorded, and a church was established. At first, the church met in a former cinema in Stockbridge, before moving to George IV Bridge in the heart of the city, then settling in 2012 in our present site at Holy Corner in Morningside.

our movement

We are just one of over 500 Elim Pentecostal churches in the U.K. Elim was founded in 1915, having roots in the Welsh revival of 1904. To find out more about Elim, click here.

Whilst we value our heritage and the wider Elim movement, we recognise that we are a small part of the wider Church, and cherish the relationship we have with other local churches from a variety of denominations.
